Craig Dory is Director of CESMII’s Smart Manufacturing Innovation Center (SMIC) hosted at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, New York, a Smart Manufacturing Center of Excellence. He leads RPI’s efforts to build and operate a rich Smart Manufacturing (SM) R&D and demonstration facility, create an agile SM learning environment for RPI students, and connect manufacturers with a broad range of resources to help accelerate industrial adoption of SM technologies and systems. He has led RPI efforts to develop its campus-wide SM infrastructure by digitally integrating more than 40 manufacturing assets to collect and analyze real-time manufacturing process data, and he led the launch and completion of over 20 SM-related research and application projects, yielding total expected project-based impacts in excess of $100M. He is also a CESMII Certified Smart Manufacturing Roadmap Professional and partners with industry and NIST MEP Centers in SM-related roadmapping and deployment projects.
